Will Mourinho have the nerve to bench Alexis and Pogba  ?

As this lines are being written, Man United is 2-0 down against Crystal Palace. So far, the two most expensive players in the history of the club are playing disastrously.

Alexis and Pogba are missing simple passes, holding the ball unnecessarily for too long and are not creating enough chances. Palace on the other hand are playing courageously, taking risks and being rewarded so far with two beautifully taken goals.

Alexis have now played 8 games for United and scored one. A penalty against Huddersfield.

Pogba has never lived to his billing since joining in 2017 playing 28 games and scoring 3.

Will Mourinho have the nerve to drop them to the bench if this trend continues?

These two players are meant to play in an attacking minded team like they did at Juventus and Arsenal, or their national teams of France and Chile.

Mourinho’s emphasis is always on strong defensive performances, where you always defend well and attack when possible. So, it seems the days when both would dictate games will never be seen again.

In the end Man United won the game with goals from Smalling, Lukaku and Matic.

Neither Pogba nor Alexis were in the score sheet.
